Cedric is a student at Ferris doing what it takes to start his own business.

DW Video’s Buy Local TV series promotes Michigan Businesses, Communities and People. At the time of this video Ferris State University student Cedric Wicks had started his own business to as he says “Make some money”. Inspired by his pastor and his faith Cedric is one of Michigan’s young people that goes out and makes something of themselves.
So what or who is an entrepreneur? An entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk.
According to the Ferris State University website, “Ferris State University launched its Institute of Entrepreneurship Innovation (IEI) spring 2013. It has quickly become a global leader in innovative entrepreneurial education. Its grass roots approach connects students to the real world of possibilities – around the globe – when they start up their own businesses.”

Using a drone with a GoPro camera to promote Big Rapids
Taking to the air while working on a series of videos for Ferris State University Admissions, DW Video uses a drone with a GoPro camera to promote the Big Rapids area. The purpose of the videos is to encourage potential students and families to choose Ferris. Part of the story is to show the area and using a drone provides some excellent views. Teaming up with Ferris State University Photographic Services, Duane worked with Rich and his drone.
By the end of our shoot we had footage from the on-ramps to Big Rapids, a great view just north of Wendy’s looking south reveling the campus, shots of downtown, the fair and a great view of tubers and the river. At one point we were laughing as Rich navigated the river and I swear we heard the theme song of George of the Jungle… “Watch out for the TREEE!

Producing a four camera production for Ferris DCCL Hooding Ceremony
Special event video covers a wide variety of events. From corporate presentations and events public relations events, musical presentations, press conferences, sports marketing events, entertainment & fashion,trade show events and more.
Recently we were contracted by Ferris State University DCCL program to cover their Hooding Ceremony. We did this with four cameras and also provided still photography services.
It is great when we have returning special event video clients. We learn every time we go out on how to adapt and modify to obtain a better end product. Last year for example we did the event with three cameras. Turned out great. This year by adding a fourth camera angle it added a nice compliment to the final production.
What is so great about this event? The Ferris State University DCCL program provides a DVD and a CD of the photos to each of their graduates. I feel it is a way of saying “Thanks for choosing Ferris, thank you for choosing our program”. Talk about excellent customer service.
Editing is where the magic happens. Knowing how to capture the right angle and right emotions… priceless.
