GoPro Handheld Stabilizer

Feiyu G3 Handheld Stabilizer

First time using the Feiyu G3 Handheld Stabilizer for GoPro HERO was for Ferris State University.

I love me some toys and the Feiyu G3 GoPro Handheld Stabilizer is one that has many uses… and for not a lot of money.

For what you pay the results are wonderful.  I have found like everything else there is a slight learning curve.  Practice does make perfect.  The GoPro Handheld Stabilizer works just like their website states.

Taken from the Helipal website, “3-Axis is referring to Pitch, Roll and Pan axis, when you are walking or even running, the gyrosope inside the gimbal will pick up your movement and tell all three motors to counter-act your movement and keep the gimbal stable, the result is giving you extremely smooth and fluent video.”

The “Magic Wand” for the GoPro Hero is light weight and easy to use with just one button. Pitch, Follow and Target mode are controlled by the one button operation.  Personally I found the follow mode to work the best for me.  This will have to be a choice you make based on your shooting style.

The GoPro Handheld Stabilizer uses three batteries that you can get from the companies website, they can also be purchased from on-line stores like Amazon. The batteries seem to last awhile.  It would be nice to have a battery level monitor.  To not purchase for that reason would be silly – I really like mine.  Now if they could make one that is low cost that would handle my DSLR.

This video is one DW Video produced for Ferris State University.  Looking at it there are at least eight shots using the GoPro Handheld Stabilizer.

GoPro Handheld StabilizerIf I had to find one complaint and to be real do not know what could have been done differently.  That is, it is not real rugged and feel I have to be careful all the time to not break it.  However, be careful especially when packing it away.  Add the GoPro Handheld Stabilizer to your bag of tricks.  A great tool for for any video producers toolbox.

Producing video testimonials

Producing-video-testimonials-Michigan

Producing Video Testimonials for GRIN… “these are affordable”, states DW Video Owner Duane Weed.

At DW Video we love producing video testimonials and promoting Michigan.  We are working with the Grand Rapids Inventors Network promoting the organization and its members. “Developing a product is a marathon” states John a member of the Grand Rapids Inventors Network. John a Michigan inventor (Johnny Ball) believes you have to believe in your product 100 percent and not give up. The networking possibilities are a great benefit of the organization.

Our approach when producing video testimonials is to keep it real.  These do not have to be expensive and in the case for how we produced the videos for GRIN, the production is hundreds of dollars… not thousands.  Here is the video we produced:

The goal for GRIN is to build their YouTube Channel and provide a platform not only for the organization and the members.

The Power of Buying Local

power-of-buying-local-panhandle-chamber-michigan

Back in the 1990’s video producer Duane Weed was one of nine that founded the Panhandle Chamber.

What does the The Power of Buying Local mean?  Buying and shopping close to home is more than a feel-good effort.  Does it mean it is worth paying more for local matters or does it?  I have read where twice the money stayed in the community when people purchased locally. The Power of Buying Local campaign can serve by alerting a community about what is unique within your local market.

In the mid nineties I helped start the Montcalm County Area Panhandle Chamber of Commerce.  Looking around my community I quickly realized there were over 300 businesses.  However, what you see in the downtown and on the main drag was only a small percentage of the actual economics that were going on within the area.  My guess is when people think of buying local they think of what they can see.  Not the repair shop off the beaten path or even in my case a media and video production company in the country.  The Power of Buying Local is ALL.  The men and women that make up these businesses pay taxes to the schools, support local organizations and volunteer their time. We need to support these people so they can continue to support us and the community.

The Band of Locals has a Blue Band program that supports the power of buying local.

Another example of an organization that was established to share the power of buying local is the Band of Locals in Big Rapids. The Band of Locals have on their website state, “With no expiration date, the Blue Bands allow you to receive discounted savings at participating businesses throughout Mecosta County.”

Here is a TV Spot we created for the Band of Locals.  Since producing this video the phone number has changed – we need to take care of this 🙂  (231) 796-2502 is the Band of Locals new phone number.

Your competition is telling their story, are you?

Your competition is telling their story, are you?   Personalizing your message to connect with the prospect and your current customer base is an on going effort on your part.  Using video to personalize your business and reach out to your prospects and customers needs to be part of your marketing plan.  One video is not the end all.  A variety of videos that you can use to build up a YouTube channel is important. Is your competition using video then you must.  If they are not, then you need to be ahead of the curve and share your story.  Share your products, services and knowledge to turn those prospects into customers.

Having a blog that is part of your website that you are feeding the Google monster (Google SEO Guide) with on-going content aimed at informing your people is another key element in your marketing mix. This takes me to the title of this blog post, Your competition is telling their story, are you?  Using video on your site, in multiple places and within your blogs is a good plan.  When it comes to your blog feeding it with good relevant content needs to be part of your strategy.  Relevant content is key based on your business type and the SEO keywords.  I learn recently that a blog post series on Dr. Singh’s iCrush Diabetes seminar series was iffy on relevant to my site.  You see my intent was to promote the series produced for him on Diabetes. However diabetes keywords used were not relevant to my video production site.  This would end up hurting me with the search engines.

So what I did is turn the blog post titles to include seminar video example and then change the content to talk about examples of the videos we produced.  Did I do this correctly, jury is still out on this one.  Did I learn something?  Sure did!  This goes to show that we are all students and can be taught, sometimes through failure.  Ouch, those hurt but a lesson we do not usually forget.

Getting back to my theme – Your competition is telling their story, are you?   Your competition is out there eating away at a market share.  You need to be ahead of them in your message.  People like doing business with people they know and trust.  Contact me at 231-937-5420 to discuss how we can help you.
