DW Video presents Buy Local Michigan video blog. We have been talking about for a few weeks and it is finally here.
We are proud to unveil our new site promoting Michigan Businesses, Communities and People at www.buylocalmichigan.us.
The goal of the Buy Local Michigan Video Blog is to share Michigan’s story. There are many people out there doing a great job for Michigan and we want to highlight their business, products and services. The beauty of our video blog is everyone can get involved: Manufacturing Companies, Retail, Non-Profit, Schools, Universities, Churches, Athletics, Musicians, Organizations, Actors, Politicians, Communities and the list goes on. According to the Angels of Action website, “The Angels of Action Backpack Blessings program serves children who are food insecure, meaning they do not have “access at all times to enough food for a active, healthy life.” (Anderson, 1990) The program targets kids who access free and reduced lunches. Children identified as “in need” by school and site coordinators are sent home each weekend with a backpack filled with healthy foods.”

Video Blog questions for DW Video’s program could include some history on your businesses. How long you have been in business and what you offer. The questions for our video blog are determined by you and I before we do the interview. Remember in a past blog post I mentioned this is about you. We need to review the questions ahead of time before we pull the cameras out and begin recording.
The reason we talk ahead of time is within our 2-3 minute window does not leave much time to get into to much detail. So, our video blog questions need to be planned to maximize your promotional value. Based on your needs here are some other possible questions we could use: What motivated you to get into this business? What do you like best about your job and why? What are the challenges of your job and how do you solve them? What about your business makes you the most proud? Where are you located? How long have you been in business? Tell me a little about your background? Please give a short (15-20 second) description of your business. What are you best known for and why? “What sets your business aside from others in the field? What geographic region do you serve? What makes us unique? The list of questions could go on and on. Together we pick 2-3 key questions to best serve you.

When putting together a Video Blog – Organize your Message. For our promoting Michigan video blog part of the organization is keeping each interview within a 2-3 minute length. To do this we will focus on one key element that is best for your business. Remember, promoting you is our mission. Covering the key element of what makes your business unique is the goal. Our Vblog program begins with the Introduction. Start by stating who you are; tell us why you are in business , and what makes you unique. When it is important to your story. Tell your History. Provide a brief background of your business and how did you get involved? And most important ending with a Call To Action, provide your contact info- website, phone number and location.
For your Video Blog – Organize your Message. Know what your mission is, work out a plan and in my case being able to adapt and modify as we move forward is going to be the key. I realize each person comes with their own story. Adapting and modifying as the program moves forward is important. Meaning not having everything written in stone and not being flexible would be the death of this project. In the same breath having the line drawn and knowing what we will do for the show and what crosses the line and needs to be a billable job is also important. Addressing every aspect is important to any project we do.
