Not only ‘like’ the page but ‘share’ as well. Commenting engages others and expands your reach.
Commenting provides more power than likes so, shares are more visible on Facebook pages than likes – is that true? Why would that be?
- Shares are more visible on Facebook pages than likes.
- You can share a message, a thought and encourage engagement when you share.
- By sharing it encourage Facebook users to click on your link because you made it social and offered your insight.
- From my research shares can lead to more traffic
Likes are easy, people can engage quickly and move on with their day. Shares on the other hand take some thought. For that reason they are harder to get. When a person takes the time to engage with your post, they are giving of the one thing that is valuable… their time. However, just like a share can be valuable because someone takes time to post – we all hope for a positive thought. By posting content on your Facebook the content is exposed to the people that follow your page. Now imagine people on your site share your post it opens you up to people on their page. This increases your reach. Increases your exposure. Others may see your content that may have never heard of you before. It is important to have people both ‘like’ and ‘share’ . On our Buy Local Michigan Video Blog I have noticed just how ‘shares’ expand your message and reach. The below examples show how sharing really increases the reach of these posts.

Support local business – Share their Posts, Positive Comments on Shares and LIKE their post.

The more shares your post receive the large audience your post receives.

Sharing posts increase your potential audience.

Sharing Facebook posts from your business page. As I have been setting up our new Buy Local Michigan Video Blog I have made an observation when it comes to sharing facebook posts. I have done some research and have not been able to find exactly what I was looking for regarding this topic.
Found many tips on engaging the audience with good content. Having a good strategy and how that it is important. Using ads and making it personal are all part of the process and is very good and solid information.
Sharing Facebook posts and how it works as part of your strategy and what is good tips is what I was looking for.
Allow me to explain, When posting on my business Facebook page the ‘People Reached’ goes up when I take extra time and go into my personal page and ‘SHARE’ with the people in the video on their timeline. NOTE: you must be friends to do this. Taking it a step further and sharing on their business facebook timeline increases the ‘People Reached’ as well. NOTE: You must like their business page.
In my next post ‘Sharing Business Facebook Posts’ I will show some examples of how I have seen this work within my blog. For all your video and media production needs call me at 231-937-5420 to set up an appointment. We are ready to tell your story.

Reciprocal links, what are they and do they work… or not. In simple terms a reciprocal link is – I have a link on my website that is hyper-links to yours. You have a link on your page hyper-linked to mine. These links complete the path between our sites. There are some pros and cons. Lets look at a few.
In many of our blog post we share the importance of video testimonials. We provide a link on my page highlighting your services with a link to you. To make it work, you having the same video on your website with a tag line with a link back to my site is a favorable practice with Google. A big word of caution. In moderation. Over using this practice is not a good idea and may bring on a ‘black list’ response from Google.
Reciprocal links for legitimate testimonials is good. It is important to make it look natural on your page. For example it would not be in good form to set up a page that had all these reciprocal links on it. Not natural and in my opinion – tacky. Be careful, we do not want to give Google any reason to think you are trying to be a link farm and doing things that are not good practice. For example with DW Video’s Buy Local Michigan Video Blog we have some natural links.
“Some tips according to http://www.highervisibility.com/do-reciprocal-links-provide-seo-value/ – this is direct from their site. For more on this topic follow their link.
- When it is natural. The best way to make sure that a link is natural is by embedding it into your content or into an author bio. Simply putting a link in the sidebar of a website does not seem natural to Google, and therefore that link will not reap any SEO benefits.
- When it is relevant. If your company offers financial services and you’re exchanging links with a sports recreation site, Google is going to get suspicious and could penalize you. Make sure that the links are relevant and will help users—Google’s main goal.
- When they are rare. You don’t want to have your entire link-building campaign built around reciprocal links. You can exchange links with some authoritative websites in your industry every once and a while, but don’t make it a habit.
In the past, reciprocal linking was extremely popular because it was easy and everyone was happy. Companies began exchanging links at a rapid rate, and in most situations these links were not adding value for readers. The links were going onto a page that was simply full of links. Naturally, Google decided to put a stop to this and penalize sites that were participating in this act, known as “link farming.” In these types of situations your will fail in terms of SEO every time. These link farms are still alive and well, so be careful.” – content from www.highervisibility.com

Keeping the message relevant and related to your business is important. This is what HMP Carpentry posted on their website. Here is what we did on our video blog.

Share your story with video is a powerful tool in today’s media toolbox. According to Casey DuBois, “Video is ideal for getting the word out and showing off your product and services. Duane has a great way of ‘whippingvideo together, it seems like magic.”
Share your story with video testimonials. At a recent Grand Rapids Inventors Network meeting Casey shared these fine words:

The power of the testimonial is priceless. When customers share their love for you in a real, non-scripted way… the results are and I will say this again. Priceless. The key to making a great video testimonial is making it real and not fake. These are not actors playing a part, they are your customers sharing their experiences with you. The video testimonial produced by Duane at DW Video capture that emotion, their true feeling for you. The results are amazing.
A parent of two kids that went to Ferris shares her experience.

Share your story with video testimonials can also build trust. In this TV spot we produced for Dr Harpreet Singh combines a number of patients sharing their experience.
