Adapt and Modify has been a way of life for me for many years. Â A few years ago I was teaching a multi-camera video course at a local High School. Â The Studio 2 class was set up to record performing arts concerts with four cameras. Â The night of a show we were a couple two people short – a camera and audio/graphics/live feed person. Â The show must go on and we needed to adapt to our situation. Â With the way our cameras were set up camera 1 and 3 are in the upper portion of the auditorium. That camera person would set up one camera on a static shot and then move to the other camera and work it. Â After a few takes would then lock that camera down and move to the other. Â This kept a flow going and one watching would never know we only had one camera person for two cameras. Â This person did an awesome job. Â Up in the booth I directed and ran the entire show – audio, graphics, directing, switching and live feed. Â So as mentioned we modified our setup to meet the demand of the ‘live’ performance.
To begin lets first look at the meaning of each word.  Adapt: make (something) suitable for a new use or purpose. become adjusted to new conditions.  Modify: make partial or minor changes to (something), typically so as to improve it or to make it less extreme.
In life, in business we adapt and modify all the time. Â When a situation comes up we adapt. Then look at ways to modify for desired results. Â By taking this approach you can improve your business, personal relationships and goals.
